Reinvigorating YBEN
In 2006, the YBEN Board of Directors transferred the YBEN website and content administration to Recycle-A-Bicycle. Currently, the YBEN Board has dissolved and this year, YBEN will be reorganized under the umbrella of Recycle-A-Bicycle (RAB). This move reflects a choice in management, and not a change in focus or mission.
In 2008, we would like to reinvigorate and grow the YBEN network. To help YBEN function effectively, Recycle-A-Bicycle proposes to do the following:
- Seek out funding opportunities to support the goals of YBEN;
- Update, maintain, and administer the website and network that enables people to chat and to read announcements such as job postings, grant opportunities, and relevant conferences/workshops/trainings;
- Collect and post educational resources (curricula, reviews of books and films, publications relevant to the work that we do); and
- Collect and post program management resources (models for job descriptions, shop policies, tool theft prevention, budgeting, board development, effective fundraising strategies, etc.)
To make YBEN a rich resource for us all, we ask for members to volunteer their support by doing the following:
- Share your thoughts and suggestions with us at a web based survey we have opened at Survey Monkey
- Send us a photograph to post on the YBEN website.
- Participate in the YBEN list serve and post your educational & program management resources
- Please renew your membership by sending an annual fee for 2008 in the amount of $35 for organizations or $15 for individuals to:
